Kubota B5000 will raise 3 point but not drop?

Hello, very new to hydraulics so please go easy on me!!

My Kubota B5000 will lift but when I try to drop, the lever gives me a funny grinding noise, almost like its not engaging a gear?? Any help, has something broken or am I being a tool and doing something wrong?

Dunno about the B5000 but I think my 1550 has a small lever that locks the 3pt in the up position, so it doesn't drift down. I think it also controls the speed of the drop. (I'm vague about this because I have a backhoe fitted and never use the 3PH). Look for it behind or under the seat.
