Hi All. The time has finally come and I am ready to spend! These are the 2 models I have come down to after lots of reading on here, and sitting on each. I'd love to hear your comments and opinions on, which way you'd go!
The main differences are gross horsepower (4 in favor of the Kubota) loader capacity (the Landini wins here by a remarkable 1000 lbs), and vehicle weight (the Landini weighs 50% more overall - a large difference, which I am taking as a positive thing, for stability and strength. They both have an HST.
The Kubota dealer was helpful when I shopped and is a 45-minute drive away. The Landini dealer is 3 miles down the road and was also helpful. Advantage Landini for location.
Another difference is that the Kubota has a mid-PTO as standard equipment, but it's optional on the Landini and I forgot to price that when I was there. I am pretty sure I want a front snowblower for this winter so the mid-PTO is important to me.
I have to reconfirm if mounting and dismounting the mid-mount mower and front snowblower are easier or more difficult on the Landini vs the Kubota.
My uses are the usual ones. I'll likely buy a MMM and box blade in addition to the FEL, and likely the front-mount snowblower. Snow clearing, field clearing, 700' driveway maintenance, building a tiered set of steps down a hillside beside the house, some stone building over then couple of years - stone patio, plus shoring up the shoreline with rocks to prevent erosion where I launch my boat, plus launching the boat and hauling out the dock in late fall, etc etc etc. I'm sure it'll get lots of use!!!
Over to y'all - comments? Thoughts? Other considerations I haven't thought of?
Without considering the cost of the additional mid-PTO for the Landini, the prices quoted by the 2 dealers were within $500 of each other - $20,000. CDN.
