I am very interested in the Kubota line and have found 2 similar models that I like. Just wondering the differences between these two lines, besides the transmission. Thanks in advance!

D Smith,
Will get my 2710 this afternoon but while researching the purchase I drove both the 2710 (4cyl) and a 2400 (3cyl).
BIG difference in engine vibration. The 2710 (4cyl) ran smooth as silk while the 3cyl had a lot of vibration.
Hope this helps

Interesting observation - Normally 3 cylinder and 5 cylinder run smoother than 4 cylinder diesels. /w3tcompact/icons/smile.gif Takes a lot of iron in the flywheel to make a 4 cylinder run smoothly.

I bought the L2500 DT. Just seemed like the L series was more for agricultural/heavy duty use, maybe yes maybe no? Anyhow I'm very happy with the tractor but if I was doing it over I think I'd spring for the HST. Also with the DT series you don't get a live PTO which is kind of a pain when brushhogging. Also if you plan on getting a loader you'll really appreciate the HST! My only regret..........

Wen, I don't know exactly how they do it, and I've not driven an L2600, but as far as the smoothness of the engine, I couldn't tell any noticeable difference in the 3 cylinder B7100 and TC29 and my 4 cylinder B2710.
