I met a guy that has a B2650 Kubota with cab & snowblower. The snowblower is 72" . After reading I have done this snowblower is by no means the right size for this tractor but the owner insists it runs fine. His driveway is pretty big and he has had it for 2 seasons already. I would have thought that you would need around 40 HP to run a 72" front blower.

Having had the B3350 and two hydraulic front snow blowers , 60” and 48” , I think the key is the all about the forward speed. And of course snow depth and weight. 40 hp would have more ground speed , everything else being equal.
I have a pto pump with a pressure gauge and I would watch the gauge as I adjusted forward speed and the throw performance of the blower to maximize my forward speed. I would have to just creep through a plowed snow bank.

I had a 60" 3-point blower on my 26hp Ford 1700. How well it worked depended upon a whole lot more than tractor horse power. Snow depth and type of snow played a major part. The one condition - wet, sloppy snow - played a significantly negative role. It's just a real ***** trying to blow wet, sloppy snow.

If the snow was wet & sloppy I just wouldn't even try. Wait until it melts or it gets colder and the snow stiffens up.

The best and most fun condition - it was below freezing and the snow was dry or crunchy. I could blow that stuff a mile.

I tried this same blower on my 62hp M6040. More than double the hp. Results were not that much better. Wet, sloppy snow just doesn't blow well.

If the snow is deep - after the first pass - just take a smaller bite and slow down.

Had a b7800 with a 62" front blower. 22 pto hp. Without hst, would not have been possible to run it. Like anything else, forward speed biggest factor. At times, wished I had 72" blower when the snow was light. My driveway is 1 mile long so have had lots of experience. Just make sure blower is just a bit wider than tires.

I can see a 72" blower on a B2650. As has been mentioned, the right kind of snow conditions will bring even a big ag tractor to its knees.
I have run the same 72" blower on a 28hp (PTO) and the current 32hp (PTO) tractor.

While I haven't blown snow with a tractor in 30 years (hoping to change that soon) I think the concept of snowblowing is the same whether tractor mounted or walk behind.......deep stuff, wet stuff, slow the ground speed and let the blower do its job........as long as his tractor can physically handle the unit itself I'm sure he isn't lying that it works.

The speed at which you can clear snow is a function of the capacity/capability of the most restricted element in the system.....many times it is the chute....you can only physically pick up and squeeze so much snow in...up and out of the chute........but man....72"......that be big for a B.....

I think I will look for something in the 40 HP range when I start looking seriously for a cabbed tractor next year.
