I was planning to purchase a B2650 with the factory cab option. I prefer a cab version as we have extreme weather conditions.

My garage has a 7 foot door and the Kubota's overall height is listed at 84.6 inches or just a hair over a half inch too tall to make it through the garage. I really would like to store the tractor in the garage when not in use and ancillary structures are not an option.

The way I see it, my options are as follows:

1. Install a custom 7.5 foot door

This is a costly option as it requires extensive mods including a new door. The bottom chords of the roof trusses won't allow me to go with a standard 8 foot door. I have a rather nice 16 foot wood door that I would like to retain. The garage is stick framed with cedar siding.

2. Cut out a new garage door

I could have a new door cut out in the back or side of the garage. Again the door would need to be a custom 7.5 foot door but I could go with a cheaper aluminum or vinyl door?

3. Other options?

I'm not sure if I could have lower profile tires installed on the tractor that would drop the overall height? This will be my first tractor so I don't know much about wheel and tire options. I was wondering if it would be possible to let air enough air out of the tires to drop the tractor an inch or so? I won't be using the tractor frequently, only about once a week so refilling the tires back to normal air pressure would not be an extreme inconvenience.

Looking for some advice.

Measure one at a dealer before doing anything. They can vary depending on tire type, tire manufacturer, and inflation pressure. By the spec, my L5740 should just squeak into my garage but it clears quite nicely.

<<<This sound like the best option to me, 2 doors always come in handy, in my garage I have 12'x12' overhead door in front, drive straight threw to the back where there is a 10'x10' sliding doors, 2 half's 5' wide ea. that I made of double layered 3/4" boards The sliding doors are harder to put weather stripping around but doable.

My brother took the top half of tops off, cut off a piece that went just above the pivot pin hole, drilled another pivot pin hole and reinstalled. No welding, nothing to weaken the structure. VIOLA, A SHORTER ROPS. !

My B2650HSDC fits in a normal 7 foot door. I had to get the R4 tires to fit. It depends on the grade of the garage appron, but I just make it in with mine. I can measure tomorrow if you want. You might also ask the dealer to bring it out for a test fit. My dealer happily brought on by before I upgraded to see if it would even fit before we started dealing.

Thanks for all the suggestions folks.

Farm: if it's not too much of an inconvenience, can you measure the overall height of your B2650 with the R4 tires. My nearest Kubota dealer is about 60 miles away so just want to get a sense of whether the tractor may fit through the door before I request that they come out and verify.

Have you looked at how complicated it might be to dig down the entrance of the garage? A two inch drop might not be so bad.

The listed height is likely with R1s. Will another tire type work for you? Lots of threads and honest debate on tire type on TBN. Most Bs with loader are sold with R4 tires.

R1(agricultural) tires/wheels will be the tallest by far. Then R4 (industrial). R3 (turf) will be the shortest.

1)Call some dealers and ask them to measure? Most likely R4s will be on the lot.

2)Maybe try creating another Post in the Kubota section with the title "Cabbed b2650 overall height?" Ask nicely if someone will measure actual dimensions with R4 or R3 tires/wheels. Explain that your dealer is too far away.

I should mention that I'm not a tire expert. This was my just my limited past experience...

The first time you bring your tractor home, drive it into the garage at full speed in high gear. Regardless of the opening size, it'll fit from then on.
