Kubota B2650
Hello,

I have a Kutoba B2650 and using a Powerhorse 3-Pt log splitter. I have purchased the auxiliary hydraulic kit which does a great job running the log splitter. The instructions indicated that when the implement is attached that you connect the kit and when it is not attached that you remove it and reinstall the block cover. The block cover looks like it just allows the fluid to flow continuously from the outlet back to the inlet. The block is not in an easy to access place and it is difficult to remove and attach the kit each time I want to connect the log splitter as well as loss of fluid each time. I would like to add poppet type quick connections to make it easier.

My question is whether I have to add a way for the fluid to continuously flow from the outlet back to the inlet port when the splitter is not attached? I can add a short hose that is always on the tractor that I remove when I attach the splitter. For the front hydraulics, I just disconnect them, but understand they don't have fluid running all the time. Is there some type of valve that I should be installing that switches into flow or bypass mode?

Thanks for taking time to read my post and appreciate any advise.

Thanks,
Roger

What kit did you install for the auxiliary hydraulics? The factory rear remote kits from Kubota tie into the power beyond loop and require no special treatment when implements are disconnected -- they will pass the power beyond flow to the next in line (3-pt hitch) regardless of what is connected or whether a valve is closed. So it sounds to me like you have some other arrangement, which possibly intercepts the power beyond loop directly.

Do you have a front loader?

Thank you so much for the response. It is kubota part number 6C040-95100, KIT COVER,HYD.OUTLET which come with two bolts, two o-rings, and a block that has two 1/4" female ports. The instructions that came with it just indicates to install the block when the implement is attached and remove it and replace the cover when the implement is not attached. I haven't tried it as I just ordered the poppet quick connectors, but I hope it does work as you mentioned and just passes to power the next in line. The cover does have a groove that does make it look like when the cover is in place that the fluid just circulates from the outlet back to the inlet.

I do have the front loaded which I just disconnect, but the fluid is controlled by the joystick, so not flowing all the time. The rear auxiliary has no valve. There is definitely some connection between the 3pt and the auxiliary port because when I raise the 3pt hitch it does start to run the log splitter.

Thanks,
Roger

OK, I did some googling, and it looks like that kit lets you tap into the power beyond loop just the way you are doing, for something like a log splitter that has it's own valves. If you make up a short hose with appropriate fittings, it can be used to "complete" the circuit when the splitter is not in use. That would be easier than removing the kit every time.
