My Kubota b2150
will not lift under load, with out a load it lifts easily. but with a load it won't lift. I changed the hydraulic fluid and filter. there is only one filter on this tractor. Are there any screens? I did not see any.

Welcome to TBN!
I had a B1750HSD,same family tractor.
There are two screens,HST and hydraulic.
Both are located near the rear axle assy.
There are pipes running from the middle of the tractor to the rear area.
Where the pipes go into the housing, there are a large bolt head screen, like a banjo bolt, that need to be removed and cleaned.
The screens are about 6-8 inches in length with o-rings.
The operators manual will show this,if you have one.
If not,the Kubota website contains parts breakdowns you can view.
Sadly,if the hydraulic screen is not plugged, your problem lies elsewhere, such as low pressure from a weak releif valve or pump.
Good Luck!

Thank you I will try that. I don't have a manual I bought the tractor used about 6 years ago. Ran great till now.

That B2150 is a terrific tractor. Mine has never ceased to amaze me in its durability and the amount of work it can do for its size. Hopefully your problem will be a blocked screen, but in my case, the same symptoms were the result of worn FEL hydraulic lift cylinder seals. Had them rebuilt years ago and no problems with the loader since. You can buy a 4000 or 5000 psi oil-filled pressure gauge for under $30 and make up a pigtail to check pressures on your own (see pic). I don't recall now what they should be. Your local Kubota dealer can look that up for you, or another TBN member may know. In fact, some of the hydraulics gurus on this board (e.g. J.J.) can likely step you through just how to isolate the problem. Good luck with this.

Well I did have a screen in the rear side of the tractor it was clogged. So I bought a new filter and I had the same problem. since then I took apart the lift control valve and rebuilt it. still it does not work. I will now try the pressure valve. Where do you place the pressure gage at the lift control valve?

I have 2 of the B2150s and never a lift problem. One with 650 hrs, the other 470hrs. The gauge is a very good idea. In the B2150 you have a hydraulic junction body at your right foot. Just find the correct port and see what pressure you get. Ought to be in the 2500 psi range (though I have not looked that up, check websites.) Exact number matters little. If you have solid pressure at some level above 2000psi then the problem must be flow and that gets back to the filters and other things mentioned above.

How many hours ? Main concern would be the pump of course. Do you have a FEL or other hyd driven things that might vindicate the pump ? Solid pressure on your gauge should also vindicate the pump.

Hey JWR, those B2150s have to be at least 20 years old. When are you going to get around to using them enough to break them in?

Allright, I deserve that ! I bought the really nice one (never left outside) in the late 80's with about 200hrs on it. Had a Case FEL added to it about 8-10 years ago when the factory Kubota FEL could not be mounted on it. Apparently the FEL fit the HSD model but not the std trans version. Dealer gave up trying. The Case FEL unit is great (modified by Amish in PA to fit.) I run a 5ft snow blower on it at a vacation place in the mountains in winter. I just bought the other B2150 this past winter in Tenn. It is much rougher but great for secondary jobs around the farm. One has turf tires and the other has ag tires. If those B2150's had a syncromesh transmission they would have been the best small tractors ever !

Mine is HST, with the FEL, and I think it just might indeed be the best small tractor ever! When Kubota came out with its replacement model they went to smaller rear tires, among other things, and gave up a good thing, IMO.

Hard to believe that when I bought it used with 60 hrs on it in 1993, it was the largest HST model Kubota offered.
