Hello and thanks in advance for any advice. There is a Kubota B2150 HSD 4x4 Tractor with (they say) a BF350-A Front End Loader. I think they mean LA350. I haven't seen the tractor yet.
It's coming up at a 7/14/13 auction. It has 3713 hours, but is said to work fine. I imagine it will sell between $500 and $3500-auction who knows? I believe these tractors are obsolete and I am concerned about problems and parts, as it has so many hours. I have a 10 acre recreation/deer hunting property and need to mow 3 acres once or twice a year. I plan to push over a few 4" to 6" post oaks to make 6' paths thru the woods.

Wow 3713 hours! But it doesn't look repainted to me. Has anyone had one of these that lasted 3700+ hours?

Any comments good or bad. Pictures of the tractor posted below.
Thanks

I have about 1/2 that many hours on mine and i expect it to go for a long time-tough little tractor. That one is a tad rough... but seems quite ready for what you want to accomplish. The lever on the left might be the bi-speed turning engagement? I don't have that option (can't see why I would need it either). I haven't needed lots of parts but had no issue getting them. The first item to check with a loader on it is front rims cracking right around the lugnuts. They were a split rim and prone to it. New one piece ones are available but are roughly $100 ea.

For a picture of the BF-350 loader, see this Messick's ad:
Used Kubota B2150

I think the entire tractor would be a bit tired at nearly 4,000 hours- drivetrain, engine, hydraulics, etc. I wouldn't put a whole lot into it when a machine with half the hours could be had for not much more.

"Obsolete[?]" Really?

I have a B1750HSD (next smaller model) bought new in 1993. In twenty years of ownership, it has cost me absolutely nothing aside from fuel, lubricants and filters. Absolutely no problems of ANY kind. Not so much as a fuse, lamp or fan belt. Yes, it has had exceptional maintenance and has not been abused. It also has far fewer hours than the tractor in the photo.

Last year, I considered replacing it with a BX or similar MF model and thoroughly researched both. After research, I decided to keep it as I consider it significantly superior to the currently available SCUTs.

That said, hydrostatic transmissions are NOT tolerant of inadequate maintenance and will wear quickly if the oil and filter(s) are not changed routinely. Repair of such damage is usually not cost effective.

I also have a B1750HSD with 1,400 hours - 3rd owner. Have had it for 4 years with no outstanding issues. It only has needed a few small parts which have been readily available at my local Kubota dealer. It has a loader and mid mount mower. Works well to do light mowing, grading and pushing snow.
The hours would be my only issue with your model. Will it be started at the auction?

I'll look at the B2150 this weekend.
Thanks to all for the advice.
