last month I noticed a small antifreeze leak. Having had the same problem last summer I suspected that either the gasket or water pump itself had failed. I went ahead and pulled the pump and checked the gasket, seemed to be fine and I could not see anything wrong physically with the pump so I put it all back together.

As soon as I fired up the tractor I could see the antifreeze was leaking again and it seems to be right at the same location as last time. It is the seal between the impeller and the fan hub.

I called the dealer and they are ordering me a new pump for a bit over $200. Parts woman told me it was only a six month warranty on the part so I am S O L I guess. I am wondering if it could be the fan out of balance or something that is causing the seal to fail.

Prior to noticing the failure it seemed to be running properly and there were no shaking or odd noises from the fan area. Just hate to put a new one in and find out it is going to fail also in a few months.

Anyone else ever have a problem with the water pump?

Regards,

Wayne

My B7500 had 400hrs on her before I traded her in with no water pump failures, althought it is still a water pump and new or old the seal can fail.
The new one may last 10yrs you just never know.
