Just some background, this is my first tractor, bought it used, so I am a total rookie at tractor operation except from what I read on this board. I did look at an L3940 which was great, just can't swing it yet. Got some stone today, bigger stuff tomorrow. I need to get some type of driveway culvert pipe.

I've got them on my tractor and so far I like them. What is it people dislike??

Maybe on a BX you could run the tires softer as well? They probably don't need to be 20 psi anyways. I've got the original tires on my ATV and I find running them softer helps make up for the tire wear.

We all were rookies at one point or another. There are limits to these machines and it looked like you found them. Finding a way to work around those limits is the biggest challenge and offers the biggest rewards. I honestly think that the route you're going will be the best solution. Even a bigger tractor still may not do it if your ground is a bit bottomless. The experience you'll gain on this project will be invaluable!

If you can find creek rock it is cheaper than quarried stone and makes a great base.

Tire pressure, why didn't I think of that. I allways do that when surf fishing. Best of all it is free. Reduced rear tire pressure to 11psi. Will use and monitor results today

I am going to look arond the property today and maybe move some larger stone to act as a base.

Another point about Ag tires. They are directional, and backing up in mud doesn't work well as they pack full of mud instantly and then are NO better than your Turf tires. Going forward they self clean and will dig to China, or until you bottom out.

I disagree. Ags in reverse are WAY better than turfs in any direction.
