Anyone have a Kozy Heat? I know the bottom lever controls airflow in and I understand what it does to the fire when I use it. My question is: the top lever controls airflow out, but how does that affect the fire? Is it supposed to keep more heat in? I'm sure glad I spent the extra $$ for this unit. It has worked overtime this year.

As you describe them, they both control air across the fire. The top one, what can't get out, can't get in. Your manual should explain/describe the uses of these two controls.

Most wood stoves have control of air in and air out, and the old pot bellied (as well as fireplaces) have a damper at the top to control outgoing air up the chimney.
