well first off, I have first hand experience with Komatsu backhoes. I purchased a '07 Komatsu wB-146 backhoe from my local komatsu dealership. What a peice of SH*T. I kid you not. The first week I had it in service, the hydralic pump went, it took 4 weeks to get it fixed, parts where hard to get for this machine since its made in Italy. second, after they fixed the hydralic pump, they over pressurized the front loader hydralics......BOOM both front hydralics Blow out of the cases and were completey destoryed. And ontop of that, when the hydralic pump went, it over heated the engine and melted the hood on the machine( its made of plastic) and the interior trim above the pump. There has been about 11 other minor problems I have also had with this machine, thats not worth typing,
But Luckly I had warrenty for this machine, the dealer has told me, so far the costs of fixing this machine have almost reached $12k ontop of the purchase price.
Ok now that I have gotten that out there to you, lets talk about there skid steers. I was going to purchase there biggest track machine last november, but.....they didn't have any instock. so they would of had to order one directly from the factory (I think it was in oklahoma). Then I find out the current models have been discontinued, prior to the launch of the new machines, and you couldn't even get one until the new models arive so it was a 8-12 week delivery time to aquire one. That really turned me off from buying a Komatsu.
NOT to mention all the issues I had with the backhoe I have bought from them.
I hear there excavators and wheel loaders are excellent, but I would never buy a Komatsu again, after having the issues I had with mine.
