I have recently "inherited" a Komatsu D21P-7E about a 1997 year. I have been trying to use the dozer but the rubber tracks are coming apart and the teeth are falling out.
Has anyone had some experience in replacing the rubber tracks.?
I have tried to locate replacement rubber tracks, either new or used, but there seems to be some confusion about which tracks can actually be used on the D21 dozers. One on-line dealer assured me that a Komatsu excavator rubber track would work as long as the links were the same number. I hestitate to go that route.
New rubber tracks are available from Komatsu America thru their dealer in Washington but the price seems excessive...$7500 for a set plus shipping.
I like the rubber tracks because my 15 acre farmette in western Washington has to be serviced using asphalt roads and crossing lawn areas that I don't want to tear up.
Would replacing the rubber tracks with steel tracks and then attaching the rubber pads be a reasonable alternative (price-wise) to the all-rubber tracks?
Any imput will be appreciated
Thanks
