Greetings

The Kioti website says that the "Entire loader except mounting is quick-detached from tractor".

Does anyone know if the loader can make use of Skidsteer quick attach implements?

Cheers

Brian

The KL401 comes with a skid steer type quick attach bucket, we have had to do some minor modifictions to other skid steer type implements to fit, (gringind a bit here or there) we have had to do this with other makes too. the "standard" for skid steer attachments is a little loose.

Yes it does. I currently have the OEM bucket, pallet forks, and bale spear all quick-tach. Be advised the mounting plate (on the loader) is narrower than standard mounting plates on the attachments. Why Kioti made theirs aprox. two - three inches narrow I don't know. In other words, attachements will work fine but there is some side to side play with all attachments except the OEM bucket. I had no problem due to Kioti's inability to measure.

What Mark said. Kioti is now stuck with a "universal" skidsteer mount standard that is simply way narrower than it should have been. It picks up and latches to any SS attachment but the attachments sometimes slide off center because the standard receiver mount is about 5 inches or so wider than the Kioti mount. It is an issue if there is any side pressure on the implement as the implement will then tend to slide over to one side. Not a huge issue functionally but annoying. I haven't bothered to fix mine but it would not be all that difficult to install a couple of spacers on each implement to stop the sliding. Another point: the Kioti bucket has a very narrow receiver mount so it cannot be used by real "standard" SS devices.

Ed,
With regards to the movement of attachments on the narrower mount, do the pins when engaged not line up with the holes on the attached device. I understand when you say that the mount is 5" narrower than the attachments, but if the locking pins lined up in the holes of the attachment it should only move as far as the slop in the holes would allow or am I missing something? I have an ATI mount and bucket and the locking pins engage in the holes on the bucket which should keep it from sliding too far laterally even if there were no sides on the bucket. My set up is all I've ever seen up close so I assumed it was a standard skidsteer attachment.

Curious,
Steve

I think you have it right Steve. The locking pins match up with the holes/slots but there is enough play in terms of slot size that the implement can still slide left or right a couple inches.

Mark,
Your probably right, my bucket has two sets of holes and one set is wider than the other which are the ones used by the locking pins. There must be enough play to allow lateral movement if it weren't for the side frames, I assumed that the pins keep the attachment centered.

Thanks
Steve

exactly.

before I bought my 45 I asked about the QA feature. I think IT was the one who told me that there was play in it. Now after acquiring heavy duty pallet forks and taking the bucket on/off more often, I can see the distinct disadvantage of the Kioti set up. Although the pins on your forks may not let them move, the slop can cause the forks to move slightly side to side. This is normally not a big issue. The real issue I had was when I was removing a skid from my new truck and almost banged my bed from the slop in the QA system. I was also moving some nice sized rocks on pallets and had some minor slippage. Once again, not a huge amount of movement, but something to be wary of in tight spaces.

The real problem comes when trying to connect and disconnect bucket/forks, as the bucket is real tight on the QA plate and the forks have side to side play that may require some steering adjustment to line up and lock in place. Once again, not a giant issue.

I do not know if this rambling mess helped at all, but I sure feel better.

I agree with Mark and Hayseed. The size of the bottom slots in mounting plates varies with implements and they are typically have wide enough for 2-3 inches of movement each direction when used with the Kioti QA adapter. Not the end of the world but an annoyance. I also find the narrow adapter irksome when lining up an attachment as I need to check left and right sides to see if it is centered rather than just on one side. Additionally, the way I attach implements is to drive into the adapter with the upper lip "dumped" and then curl it and lift the implement off the ground before I lock it in place. The implement will often slide off center during this curl/lift even if I have lined it up midline.
