Hello everyone, first post here and hopefully first tractor soon.

Looked at Kubota's for a long time, but find that I prefer the Kioti's. Looking to get a used CK20/25/27-ish machine with FEL, with several used machines already located.

Now, I'd like to do most of the maintenance and repairs myself, or with the help of a local mechanic. He, however, thought Kioti might not be such a good idea since there are no dealers nearby (NJ, 33mi from me is closest) and that it might be hard or impossible to get parts for DIY work. Is this the case?

Anyone have experience sourcing Kioti parts either online or through a dealer's parts/service shop? Of course I'm hoping I won't need anything out of the ordinary, but it's something to take into account when selecting a machine.

Thanks.

A half hour drive for parts doesn't seem bad to me but to answer your question. If you look on ebay, you can find filters and filter kits that have engine oil, fuel, air, and one or both hydraulic filters depending if you have a hydro tranny. Engine oil, air, and fuel can be found aftermarket such as a napa or wix fliter but there are many more if you do a cross reference. The two hydraulic filters so far must come from a Kioti dealer. Most dealers are more than happy to send you whatever parts you need even if you want an engine or tranny. Here are two places to get you started, (Michigan Iron and Equipment, Kioti Tractors, Kioti Implements, Kodiak Attachments, Befco, Hound Dog Attachments, Dk Series Tractors, Central Michigan) and (VA Agricultural Dealer - Woods Lawn Mowers, Used Farm Equipment, Construction Equipment & Tractors For Sale | Goochland, Henrico, Richmond in Virginia). I'm sure there are many more and all you need to do is call them with the tractor model and serial number so they can get you the right part. Some dealers have on-line parts ordering but calling makes it easier if there is a revised part. Kioti's USA headquarters is in N. Carolina and that is where the parts warehouse is at but only the dealer can place an order from there. Most dealers keep an inventory of the most needed parts. I've ordered parts before and most of the time they are at my door via UPS in a week even if the dealer needs to get it from S. Carolina. If by chance S. Carolina HQ is out of stock, which isn't often or an odd part, it will have to come across the water and can take a couple weeks. So for me, any parts needed has been easy and reasonably fast.

I may just have to cut my old filters in half and compare with the other commercially available ones. If they fit, and are the same structurally and functionally, then I'll go with the cheaper ones - once the warranty has expired. ;-)

I"ve had my Kioti for 12 years and do all my own maintenance.
I order all my parts over the phone and have the shipped to my door.
I usually receive any parts within 3 to 5 days. Overnight shipping is likely available for extra $$
Parts for DIY are a non issue

Thanks everyone. Good to know that Kioti is cool about getting parts to people wanting to maintain their own machine. Just what I needed to know.

Another question though: can most service and repairs be done with standard repair shop tools or should I plan on investing in Kioti-specific tools? Thanks again.

That is what I do too. I order from a dealer so I can double check that I'm getting the right part if it has anything to do with the engine for example. For hydraulic fittings though I buy via discount internet supplier or if I have a question, then I'll go buy it from my local hydraulic shop. Fluids and grease i just buy at local discount auto supply or tractor supply.
