Kioti or kubota

I want to buy a subcompact to maintain 3/8's of a mile driveway, till an acre garden, mow 3 acres of yard and bush hogg around a half acre pond. I looked at these two tractors: (new for 2004) kubota b7610 w/woods 52" rear mower, rear blade, and tiller = $13,820 total with delivery and taxes included. The Kioti ck 20 hst with same attachments came out at $ 12,700. Are these good prices and will the tractors do the jobs listed? I am new to all of this and want to make a good deal but also want good quality equipment.

Kubota is with hsd and was quoted in Virginia.

The B7610 is a great little tractor. The design is nice and refinded like the rest of the series. I think we will see alot of people taking the jump up from a BX.

from my small amount of seat time on the 7610 (till it dries up a bit)...i doubt you would be disappointed with it.

also, thats a heck of a price you were quoted.

try them both and see what you think.

I think with a price gap that narrow, do yourself a favor and buy the kubota. Great resale, better parts/service network, excellent track record. If you are absolutely sure you will not sell in 5 yrs, maybe it is a toss.

I would have a hard time shelling out over a thousand dollars more for the Kubota, with all other things being equal. I am, admittedly biased, a Kioti fan and have nothing but good things to report about my Kioti equipment. I think if you are going to hang on the equipment for a few years, resale is a moot point. Of course the price difference wouldn't be the deal breaker/maker, it would depend on the dealers. Are the dealers local or are you buying from a long way away?

Either way, I don't think you can go wrong with either machine...but you could buy some more attachments, filters, oil, start a small shed for your tractor, etc. with that extra thousand bucks.

Owning JD, the Kubota model numbers don't always make sense to me. Is the 7610 24 HP or am I wrong?

yes, the b7610 is 24hp.

The 7610 is 24hp with 18hp PTO. The CK20hst is 21hp with 15.5hp pto. I think the price for the Kubota is great and for the little extra money you are also getting more power. More power means more money but is well spent. Looks like a good size tractor for what you plan on doing with her. Happy shopping.
