Tractor
Massey 1529
Hey Guys I posted this on the BOBCAT forum as well.
I'm currently in the market for a compact tractor around the 26hp range give or take a few HP. I was originally looking into used one from the kubota, NH, and Massey. The price around here for used are outrageous. Then I stumbled across Kioti. With a little research discovered BOBCAT. Hoping to go price and sit on these this week. I'm looking at the CT225 or CT122 or the Kioti equivalent. My question for you Kioti owners: Why did you go with Kioti instead of BOBCAT? I can only assume the price was cheaper buying Kioti, since BOBCAT tractors are essentially Kioti machines.

I would be getting a FEL. There seems to be some debate in the difference between the Kioti and BOBCAT loaders? Can you fill me in?

I'll be using this tractor to maintain my 1300 foot driveway. Landscaping around the house. Cutting firewood and simply playing around, cause I'm a man and want a tractor!
Thanks in Advance!

Not sure there is much price difference - probably depends on current rebates. Kioti offers gear or HST while Bobcat is all HST,other wise not much difference as far as I know.

Bobcat didn't have theirs when I bought my Kioti CK30hst, a 30hp hydro trans. The gear tractor is cheaper, which only Kioti has, if that's what you're looking for. Otherwise they're the same tractor. Bobcat's fel, bh, and other attachments are their own. Some have mentioned that Bobcat's fel seems to be stronger. Wallace tractor, from this site, can give you a better idea. He is very acquainted with both. Happy tractor hunting. I don't think you'll be disappointed with either. I'd go for the best price.

Bobcat tractors didn't exist when I bought my Kioti. I believe the Kioti has a better warranty. Bobcat does seem to have a few more 'accessories' than Kioti; front mount snowblower, mid mount mower come to mind... but they will fit a Kioti if you want them. There was a period where Bobcat was about giving away the tractors to get into the market. Now pricing seems to vary based on local markets, some places Kioti is cheaper, some places Bobcat is. Wallace knows the differences and if he spots this thread I am sure he will let you know. If I had to choose now it would depend on dealer and then price. Although I will admit I don't see myself on a white tractor.

White just does not do it for me when it comes to a tractor. I did get a price from Bobcat when I got my Ck35 almost 3 years ago.
Thankfully Kioti was cheaper. :D :licking:  :) ;)

Actually , I believe there are some Bobcat models available with shuttle shift at this point.

Kioti was slightly more than BC,, But at the very last minute the BC dealer wanted to charge me extra for the tires :) not kidding!
BC dealer would not add bucket hooks or fill the tires, said it would void the warranty ??

Drove 5 hours to see Wallace tractor to get what I wanted at a good price.

I bought orange as the white just didn't work for me. The price was very comparable. The kioti dealer is also closer. I am very happy with my DK40se.

Hey BigTurk,

I've had my DK40se HST going on two years and I tell you it's a fantastic tractor! We FINALLY got some snow here and I got to spend some time playing ... (working if the Wife is reading this) .. in the snow.. My only complaints are the headlights are worthless when FEL is attached, and the Detent in the rear remote is too dang tight.. when that lever goes into the detent position it's hard to get back out. (I removed the detent balls and it's great now). I paid about 19.5 with the FEL in 2009. My dealer has since switched over to Bobcat, and he had 2 DK40's on the lot when I bought mine so I think he was motivated to sell.

Tractor on.

In this case, the dealer matters more than the tractor.

I'd agree. While I don't like the white paint, if I ever got another I'd probably give my old Kioti dealer (now Bobcat dealer) a call first. It may be a while but someday I'd love to move up to a cab version. Not sure that Bobcat even imports those.

Just back from the World AG Expo at Tulare Ca. They had Bobcats with cabs. Something that I noticed with the Kioti vs Bobcat tractors is that the Kioti DKs have draft control and NONE of the Bobcats have it. No big deal if you aren't a person that uses draft control, but if you are, it is a HUGE deal.

That is interesting. I thought the equivalent tractors in white and orange were literally identical except for decals and paint color. I guess Bobcat opted out of some "standard" features. For someone who intends to plow/subsoil etc that would be a big deal.

No Offense to anyone but the only thing I found with white paint had an A-hole salesman on the other end of it. In 20 years- local B cat dealer has sold me nothing!!

If you have ever had draft control you would never be without it again. My friends big buck New Holland does not have draft and I ended up doing all of the disc work putting in food plots on his land last fall. Draft is necessary for implements. Very happy with my DK45 with 330 hours so far!

I have the Bobcat CT335 SE and so far I have loved it. I plowed several food plots without the draft control and have had zero problems. I am not a farmer by trade, so draft control is not an issue. If I were a farmer, I wouldnt have bought a 35 hp tractor, I would have bought a 100 hp tractor.
I think either one, Kioti or Bobcat would be a good investment!

I was also waffling between Bobcat and Kioti. Both dealers are good, but the Kioti dealer is better. He was able to help me with a trailer and a zero-steer too, plus has the whole Husqvarna lineup us power yard tools. The price difference was not the deciding factor, but the Kioti was slightly less.
