Backhoe Kioti LK3054 / KB-1550 Backhoe Buckets

-I was just curious if any other LK3054 owners out there knew anything about the bucket availabitity for the KB-1550 backhoe attachment. I am looking to upgrade from the 12" to at least 18", or maybe even a 24". Is there a source other than going through Kioti direct? My nearest Kioti Dealer is almost 90 miles away. Also- Is there another make/model of bucket that might be compatible? Are the newer buckets by Kioti compatible?

Any suggestions, or info would be helpful! Thanks!

As best I can tell, if an OEM bucket is tough to locate you could find a close match. All you need to know are the pin size and hole position. Pin diameters are critical but fairly standard within a range of 1-1.5 inches for this size BH. Don't guess, use a measuring tool that can distinguish 1/8 inch. You could add bushings to a small diameter pin if necessary. Length of the pin is also an issue but if the bucket was a tad wider than perfect I imagine a spacer washer ot two would work. Or, you could get anoyher set of longer pins. Too narrow a mount won't work. The distance between mounting holes center to center is not quite as critical but if the geometry is off too much (more than an inch or two) you can lose either speed or power with the curl. Some companies (woods) even have buckets with two sets of holes for a power or speed position.

If you are cruising a used bucket collection consider making a plywood template to match your mount then find one that matches.

Yeah, finding another brand of bucket that I'd have to modify is kind of a last resort, but not out of the question yet. The KB-1550 parts manual I have, lists their OEM buckets available has 12" through 36", but unfortuneately when you try to go through Kioti directly, its like hitting a brick wall. I just would of thought that with the '1550 having been in production has long has the LK3054 tractor (15+ years) there would have been a lot more used buckets floating around. - Somebody on Ebay has a new 24" listed right now, but the seller has no clue on what size of machine it fits, he just knows its a Kioti bucket. It would be nice to know if these newer models fit, since it would make the 180 mile round trip to the dealer, worth the time and money.

Kioti does not make its own backhoes and I believe they have used several manufacturers over the years. That means that one Kioti bucket may well not be compatible with another Kioti sourced backhoe.

The three main measurements should allow you to find a bucket that fits though even if it is not a Kioti original.

Really? I was not aware that Kioti did not mfg. their own backhoes! From the research I've been doing this morning, its looking like your suggestion/input is going to be the best option. I just wish I had another brand name to go on for a good start.

Kioti out sources both loaders and BHs as do most other tractor companies (not sure but maybe Kubota builds their own). There was a post earlier this week where Rick Wallace rattled off at least three different sources of loaders.

I would send him a PM as he has been both a Kioti and Woods dealer so probably knows if there are any easy switches.

I worked with Michigan Iron last summer to fabricate a ripper attachment and realize now that a good welder/fabricator could take literally any used bucket and modify the mount to fit whatever you have.

Backhoe model numbers 1440, 1550, 2365, 2375, 2376, 2465, 2475 all use the same buckets.
The buckets are the same as the 6.5ft and 7.5ft Rhino brand backhoes use.
The 1440 and 1550 were made by SMC (Rhino)

Also check with a New Holland dealer as Rhino made their backhoes also.
Just be careful not to get a 8-1/2 backhoe bucket. They have a much bigger pin size.
I have a old style 18" here $497 plus UPS if need be.

I appreciate your info, but since I found out that the new Kioti backhoe buckets are compatible with my older KB-1550, I'm actually headed to my nearest dealer (they were not sure about compatibility when I asked them) They're selling the new 18"s and the 24"s for $299-$379+ Tax Respectively.
