Hey Ya'll,

I have an LK 3054 (1996). The fan blade that cools the radiator will not turn and the belt slides around it. I removed all the housing around the fan and was able to turn the fan by hand, but it wobbles. It also appears that this assemble may be attached to the water pump.

1) What do you think is happening here?
2) How simple is the repair? (My experience is limited to replacing a PTO fork and fuel filter on this tractor)
3) How much of the housing will I have to remove - does the radiator need to come out?
4) While I'm in there, what else should I replace?

Thanks much. All help is appreciated.

Sounds like water pump beerings have called it quits

Call a dealer I'm not sure on your particular model but most likely easiest fis would be to replace the water pump

Most likely you'll need to pull the battery and radiator but not sure on your tractor

A dealer will know for sure

I have a LK 3054 (something like a 2002 model) and the water pump went out. Heres my experience:

There is more than one engine they used in the 3054 and you need to make sure you get the right pump because they are different. And Murphy's law would mean that I needed the more expensive pump.

Seems like it was around $225 with the gasket. My best guess is the seal went out and then the bearings died. And it did it all at 400 hours. That I'm not happy about with my Kioti to have to replace the dumb water pump at 400 hours.

It is rebuildable according to the parts manual I looked at. New shaft, seals and bearings are listed.

To change it I took off the grill, hood, battery, battery support frame, air box, and then the radiator. Then it was very easy to replace. If I had the right part in the first place it would have taken me probably around 3 hours total. Not a big deal really. Just bummed that it went out way too soon in my opinion.

The dealer (who will remain nameless) did not do his homework when ordering the part. He said without hesitation that there was only one engine used in that tractor. Long story and it's water under the bridge.

Thanks for the responses. I'm set to call the dealer this morning and get his/ her opinion as well. Thansk for the heads up on the engine types - I did not see that coming. The dealer is located 50 miles away and it takes about 1 1/2 hours to get there.

I would love to think I don't have to take too much apart, but in a way I learn more about the tractor when I do.

Best Regards,

Mohican
