I need some assistance from you wise sages regarding an ignition problem and light problem I am having with my CK30H Kioti.

There seems to be a little play (ever so slight) in the key switch, and at times, particulalry when it is cold (both tractor and outdoor temperature), I have to jiggle the key while it is in the "keys-on" position prior to starting just to get the instrument panel to light up. After I turn the key and start the tractor, and when the key returns to the "keys-on" position, that same slight play in the key switch sometimes causes the electrical to the tractor switch to be killed.

The threaded key switch itself appears to be tight with the collar and the instrument panel/chasis.

Do any of you know whether this is somehing I can fix short of replacing the switch? If so, how do I get to the switch so I can adjust it and check it out. I have a shop manual, but it doesn't seem to have instructions for getting to anything on the instrument panel or the ignition switch.

My differential lock indicator light has also not been working, and I would like to address both problems at the same time if I can.

Any help with this would be greatly appreciated.

You might try some graphite in the key hole.
My DK45 had a light on the panel for the differential lock but never had a switch wired in on the linkage from factory so i bought a micro switch and wired it my self.

The problem discussed in the link certainly sounds like the same problem. I don't see that the answer was posted with the link. I assume it must have called for squirting a little WD40 in the key slot, or doing the same thing with some graphite. Is that accurate? If so, I will give one of these a try when I get back out to the farm.

I see I made a mistake in describing my other (light) problem. The light I was talking about isn't the diff lock light, it is the 4-wheel drive indicater light. It worked when I bought the tractor, but doesn't work now. Anyone have any thoughts on this?

Can someone also tell me how I even get to the indicator lights on the instrument panel?

Thanks again.

Thank you.

does the 4wd light come on when the switch is first turn on if it does not then bulb is burned out. if it does then the switch under by the linkage may need adjusted.

My 2003 DK45 had no 4 wd indicator light at all so i put one on.

Thanks. Any thoughts on how one even gets to the bulb?

I don't have a 4WD light either; never have had one. Are you sure you aren't talking about PTO light?

I have a 2005 CK30HST. It has a light which is supposed to activate on the instument panel when the Tractor is placed in 4-wheel drive. It used to work, but does not any longer.

I have been told by a dealer that sometimes the connection (which is located just below the 4-wheel/2-wheel drive lever) becomes loose, but that is not the problem, so it must be the bulb. The problem is my shop manual is not very informative on how to even get to the lights to replace the bulbs.

Anyone know the best way to do this?

I have a 2005, I never noticed a 4WD light! But thanks, I'll look for it.
