TLDR; a Stant 10817 is a perfect replacement, $11 and buy from oreilly NOT autozone.
Some idiot who shall not be named (me) filled up my 3510 and started mowing with my flail. I heard a noise, looked back, and identified the remnants of my diesel cap. Found one online via eBay for $40 and 2 week delivery but with rain/humidity coming I didn’t want to leave my tank open. Not to mention even at 3/4 full I was sloshing lots of diesel out and all over my 3 pt, etc
I took rough measurements of the opening. (all I had was a measuring tape). Thought I’d try autozone; they didn’t even want to talk to me. Without my current fuel cap to match they wouldn’t even look. Didn’t want my business.
O’reilly was a totally different experience. The guy at the counter looked it up on 5-6 different web sites. All had several day deliveries, but one had a picture. “I think I have that or close”. He had a digital caliper and we measured the three closest looking. He sold me two - a locking cap and a regular, each with slightly different dimensions, both very close to what I had measured - and told me to bring back whatever didn’t work
The Stant 10817, non-locking, for $11 was a perfect fit.
Thanks to Trent at Oreillys in Ennis Texas for getting me back in the seat.
PS - the eBay item says all the kiotis use the same cap so probably good for dx/rx/nx as well
