My Kioti DK45SE has about 100 hours on it and everything has worked great. Today, I started it up and I could lift the front loader but not the mower on my 3 point hitch. First time. I checked the fluid level which was normal. Do I bleed the system next? I know where the bleeder bolt is located but I'm not sure if I need to remove it with the engine running but the hydraulic not under load? Any hints?

Not sure on the Kioti ,but most tractors have a lift lowering speed control knob under the seat. Could this have been turned to the closed position?

Bleeder bolts? Don't know of any hydraulic system bleeder bolts.. and you don't need to do that anyway..Open center hydraulic systems are self purging of air. The drop rate valve position should not prevent the 3pt from lifting. It will prevent it from lowering if tightened too far clockwise.. The number 1 thing to check would be the position of the auxillary remote lever.. If you did not have the balls removed, then it has a detent position. Is it in the detent position? 3pt valve troubshooting.JPG

Thanks, James. You were right. The lever in front of the front end loader controls (called double acting lever in the manual), was not in the detent position. Works great now!

That lever not being in the Neutral position is pretty hard on your hydraulic pump and the fluid.. Here is what happens. If the lever is thrown, the fluid "deadheads" into rear remote. And if there is no return path for the fluid the pressure rises instantly to maximum pressure and the Pressure Relief Valve opens. This causes the fluid to heat up flowing over the restriction of the pressure relief valve for an extended period of time. Of course the pump is heating up and working real hard too. What I am trying to say, is this is not a good thing to have happen.

Many of us when getting the tractor, specified for the dealer to remove the balls that will allow the lever to stay in the operated position. Another solution is to have a short male to male hose made up and plug it into both rear remotes so if the lever accidentally gets thrown, there is a return path for the fluid. So the pump does not "deadhead" and the relief valve will not open.

You should consider remove the detent balls (there are instructions on this forum) or buying the aforementioned hose.

The reason for the detentented lever function in the first place to is run something downstream that has its own hydraulic valves like a log splitter or backhoe. But you can always use a bungee cord to hold the original valve operated if you want to operate something like this.

Just remember with an open center hydraulic system hydraulic fluid is always flowing thru the control valves, but if you operate one you divert this flow path either into a cylinder or in your case it deadheaded into a remote Quick Disconnect and since it is ahead of the 3pt valve in the flow path, there was no fluid going toward your 3pt valve so the lift could not operate.
