I have a 2016 Kioti DK 4510 Hydro shuttle with 627 hours on the clock, when I parked it 3 days ago everything is fine. Today I go out to start it, when I cycled the key it I could hear a couple of relays clicking but it wouldn稚 do anything as far as turning over, the gauges were going crazy and every warning indicator was flashing, on the hour meter I seen Error 2 and Error 6 and 7 scroll across. Battery was charged to 12.7 volts And when I have a volt meter hooked to it and try to start it the voltage would plummet to 6 volts. All the fuses checked out and APPEAR to be operational. The main relay that was making the clicking noise I checked and it ohmed out, however when I disconnect the relay, that I am assuming is main ignition relay?? The brand is Handouk and the number on it is RV7-12-6STM-D 70amp 14dc, obliviously the clicking would stop and also the gauges would stabilize and no warning indicators other than the normal during startup it still wouldn稚 start, I would assume cause the relay was removed. I have found a replacement relay on eBay for $25, but not sure how deep I should dig into it before taking it to the dealer, it should still be under warranty, I知 assuming the 6 year unlimited power train warranty would cover this.

anyhow I知 rambling now, if anyone has had a similar experience I would love to hear your experience with it.

I’d look around for a rodent chewed or loose ground wire (or any wire) first.

The "clicking" noise is due to low voltage. If the battery drops to 6 volts under load, either the battery cables or the battery is the issue. You have basically load tested the battery with the volt meter. If the battery voltage drops below 9 volts under load, you may have a bad cell in the battery. Have the battery tested before you start putting parts in the tractor. This sounds a lot like a battery issue.

Hope this helps.

Grab battery cables and try twisting them where they meet post. Ive found loose cables or broken lead clamp issues causing problems in past. Check grounds for loose cables also. Try new battery. When starting the voltage should drop, but not that low. I also once had success having someone try starting a tractor while I maneuvered cables and twisted them where they contact battery, and the tractor started. We replaced the cable, and no issues since.

When you tested the battery under load and got six volts, where exactly did you measure from. If you measured the actual battery voltage on its terminal you indeed have a battery problem. If you measured elsewhere like the lamp on battery terminal you need to clean the surfaces, tighten the clamp, and try it again. Your problem is probably a connection.

Sounds like bad battery or bad ground. A bad battery will show fully charged and once you put drain like starter on it the battery will fall on its face. Bad ground wire can act similarly. Try jumping from batter to starter.

Update. Turns out it was a bad battery, took my cranking battery off my bass boat when I got home this morning and put it on my tractor, ole gal fired right up. I appreciate all the quick responses.

Low batteries can cause a number of issues. That's the first place I look/test when I have electrical issues, and it's usually the cause of my problems. I bought a used 2012 Accord V6---a really nice car for me---and I was driving it one day and the gauges went crazy, the engine hesitated a bit, and the temp gauge went to all the way in the red and stayed there. Totally freaked me out. Probably the reason the guy sold the car. Anyway, the cause of the issue was a loose positive battery cable. I tightened it back up and haven't had an issue since.

Glad you got your issue sorted out! :cool2:
