My cruise control started to stick right after I power washed it. Not sure if that's related but it started right after that. However it came out of it the first time and I used it for an hour before it acted up again. I wasn't sure that was it because the cruise light on the dash did not come on. However that has since changed and the light now does come on even though the switch is in the off position.

I have since parked it and decided to do some research before I start tearing into it and diagnose myself. Maybe someone else has experienced this and can save me some hours and hair? :)

There are 3 connectors to unclip and dry out. One being at the magnet that holds the fwd HST pedal in place during cruise, another at the cruse unit, above the HST filter, and of course the harness that plugs into the cruise control button on the dash.

The cruise unit itself has a number of input and outputs, any one of those pins has a bit of a short, you could have this problem.

I also think that pressure washing your rig, though I can absolutely understand why folks look at it as cleaning and maintenance, often does far more damage that good. Pushes dirt and debris into delicate places with great force. Sensitive electronics encased in waterproof boxes are only rated for rain. Even the manual mentions keeping the dash station covered if left outdoors, to keep it out of the rain. Let alone a pressure washer blasting.

I will second the "never pressure wash your tractor" Thing. I have also had problems with cruise control after pressure washing. I will never do that again.

Thanks guys. That seems to have fixed it. My DK35SE has a cab so I like to keep at least the cab cleaned. However this time I did find a wet spot in the field while mowing and got one side quite muddy. I did wash up underneath the fenders and such which I will be more careful next time. I hate a muddy tractor.

Thanks again!!
