New member starting to shop for a bigger tractor and was wondering if any members have had any experience with the Kioti DK35. I have always owned Kubota's and was leaning toward the Kubota L3400, but the nearest dealer is 75 miles away while there is a Kioti dealer here in town. Any information would be appreciated. Thanks.

We are doing a county fair right now and we are set up by a Kubota dealer We had 2 customers purchase our DK35 over the Kubota L3400.
Price, warranty, and the standard features is what sold the Kioti.
Also keep in mind it is a 38hp tractor.

I called a near by Kioti dealer and got a price on a DK35 hst with fel and bush hog and it was about 2k higher than the Kubuta L3400 with same implements. The dealer recommended I drive both and pick up a load of dirt to see the difference.

Dang, I never knew there were so many tractors out there...this is very difficult.

Make sure to bring your own dirt so it's a fair comparison....

The Kioti DK 35 is a nice machine.
I have a 2001 DK 35. Its been a good tractor for me so far and I've been real pleased with it.
I have 1020 hours on my DK and the only parts I've needed to replace has been a tachometer cable ($8) and a plastic fuel filter bowl ($9).

I have a L3400 and just test drove a DK35 on the weekend.

My first impression was that it is physically a larger tractor. It is substantially heavier at ~3900lb vs 2600lb of the Kubota.

The DK35 has a vast array of impressive features - telescopic links, independant PTO, tilt steering, draft control, really cool 3pt adjustment at the rear of the tractor etc. The pump capacity is higher as is 3pt lift capacity.

Not sure about the capacity of the loaders but I would *guess* that the DK35 might be better.

That said, I think that the L3400 is a great no frills machine with Kubota's stellar reputation. I certainly haven't found mine lacking. Just spent the weekend moving several tons of gravel - many bucket fulls with ease.

If I do decide to trade in, it will be a bigger machine DK40 or more likely DK45 - which is a beast.

I've had a Dk35 for almost two years now. It has done everything I've asked of it. Most of the work has been dragging logs and hauling gravel in the loader bucket. I can load the 66" bucket to the top with gravel and the loader will lift it without a grunt.
I couldn't ask for a better running machine. I move a lot of snow with it the past 2 winters and no matter how cold it got it always started on the first try.

Hi All,
People seem to forget that the DK35SE has several advantages over the L3400: 38HP, 15.2GPM pump, 2385# lift 3PT, Position/draft/comb control 3PT, 12F x 12R synch shuttle or 3 range HST,Weight= traction,Independent PTO and so on. The 4 YEAR PROTECTION and standard QA plate and Grill Guard.
Pricing varies around the country, but I do not have any problem giving customers more tractor and great service and parts support(seldom needed) for less money. I'm sure most of your local KIOTI DEALERS offer these same practices.
Don't be afraid to go in and drive a tractor. If you are a little timid, let the dealer put the tractor through it paces to show you what it can actually do for work. I have found that many customers don't come close to getting the tractor to peak performance when test driving. Some will think they need a bigger stronger tractor until we show them ourselves.

Itest drove a DK35 with shuttle shift today. The rear remote, telescopic links, different brakes, nice seat (mulitple adjustments), neat REAR 3pt options, and other items really got me wondering why everyone doesn't sell their tractors like this.

I have an HST now, and was unused to the shuttle shift, but for about 1200 in difference between the two I think I could get used to shuttle shift. It was a little odd to have to use a fwd reverse lever, gears, a clutch, and a pedal, and two different brakes. But I guess after a couple of hours it would be like anything else.

The mass of ther tractor is very impressive, I haven't seen anything that big in that HP yet. BUt I also don't go to every single dealership.
