We're looking to replace our older International 240. Its been a good tractor but as its not very common replacing parts is always an issue. We have just over 50 acres of country property at our weekend place. The property is hilly but the area we mow is mostly flat.. except for one area which is very hilly (about 2 acres)... We mow about 6 acres with a 6 foot finish mower, use the backblade and slip bucket for about a mile of driveways and a middle buster and two bottom plow once in a while for gardening and adding drainage where needed.
We wanted to add a loader to our equipment for sometime. Mostly for moving gravel when working on the driveways but eventually maybe getting a grapple of some sort for moving trees (we cut and hand split about 10-15 cord a year of maple, ash and cherry). We live in the snowbelt of Western New York so adding a snowblower down the road was also in the cards... Right now we dig out by hand 600 feet of driveway and snowshoe everywhere else. Last year the deepest we had to clear was just over 3 feet... in past years we have had up to 5 one the ground. Figure the loader bucket would be needed for that to help. We're not getting any younger
We have a Kioti dealer in our town. Because of this I was looking at the Kioti ck35. My father in-law stopped in and asked about pricing on a 35hp model and they said about $20k. He's not a details man. When I asked if that was for a ck, ds or dk, which all have 35hp models, he was not sure... I also asked if that included tax and he wasn't sure about that either... so I have some footwork to do on that still
I have a couple of friends that have Mahindras and like them a lot... there is a dealer for them not to far from our city place and another about 30 minutes from our country place. I was planning on looking at the 1533 or the 3535 models but have not stopped in...
My father-in-law through a monkey wrench in when he found this online : 2015 John Deere 3038E
We had ruled out John Deere because of price early on... but this seemed like a good deal. We could use the trailer as we rent one a couple of times a year now. We could also put the box blade to use so thats a plus. We have an old brush cutter but I need to weld up several holes in it so replacing it and selling the old one isn't to bad.
So the question is how does the 3038e stack up against a Kioti ck35 or a Mahindra 35hp model? We liked the idea of getting a John Deere hoping that in the long run parts would be available... We're paying cash so financing deals don't really matter too much...
We are in the early phases of tractor shopping... We also have an ls dealer local and I might stop in there and check them out.
thanks in advance...
