Kioti CK20
My Kioti CK20 RWD recently starting slipping when under a load. It is hydrostatic. I pulled a load of manure up a long hill to spread on our farm, shut the tractor down to work on the manure spreader (something always breaks when I'm crunched for time), fixed the spreader, but when I went to go back out to the field as I was climbing a very small incline, the drive would just cut out. I had to put it in 4WD to pull the manure spreader up any incline. Later I put a grader blade on and tried doing some earth moving with it with the same result; as soon as I would start to grab a little bit of earth with the blade the RWD would just drop out, as if all the pressure had been released. I'm looking for some pointers on what I should check. I have atleast checked the fluid; levels are at their optimum amount. I'm concerned I have blown a seal or burned up the pump. Thanks for any help.

I do not know your tractor but in order to help the owner of a different model of Kioti, I found this on line site for a WSM. (Work Shop Manual).

Kioti Tractor Service Manuals PDF Download

For $10, the manual I was able to download immediately was a high quality one not fuzzy photocopied pages.

The engine stop solenoid in the service vault WSM was different than the forum member's I was trying to help and I was offered a full refund but because the rest of the material was so useful I decided to keep the manual.

Having a WSM can put you on the right track to your problem.

One simple thing that you might look at is to see if one of the rear rims is spinning inside the tire. Sounds odd, but has occurred before on other forums.

I agree 100% on getting a WSM.

I am not very familiar with hydro trans units and know nothing about your tractor but my first thoughts are that it sounds like either a relief valve is opening or the pump is weak. The first place I would start is changing the trans filter. If no difference I would try diagnosing a worn pump. If this is the issue, I suspect that putting a heavier weight oil in will make a difference in the tractors ability to pull. If a heavier weight works, then you can assume it is a worn pump issue. This is simply a band aid but may buy you some more hours before having to address the real issue.

If it is the hydrostat, putting it in 4wd wouldn't make it pull, it needs the hydrostat to move whether it's using the rear wheels or all four. I have beet juice in my rear tires and if the air gets really low, the wheel will slip inside one of the rear tires and won't pull, use 4wd till I get to an air hose.

How about your hydraulic, are they working? Steering?

Milkman and 07wingnut; When I first read 07wingnut's response I laughed, because that seemed like an unlikely occurrence, but I immediately had a memory that the "bad" side had beet juice leaking from around the rim when my problem was occurring. I did not think they coincided, but I did pump the tire up to the correct pressure and I have since not had the problem with that right wheel not driving; Even still I did not think to connect the two as the same problem. Thanks for your help!
