Changed fuel filter, fuel is full and clean, engine starts promptly. Engine will exhibit normal power for about 10 to 15 minutes and then starts to loose power over a 3 minutes period, then dies and will not start. If I let the tractor sit for 1 hour, the engine will do a normal start-up and then will repeat this cycle. This happens every time.
Fuel filter was shut off; new filter was installed; bowl was topped-off with fuel; tightened; fuel filter bowl was turned on; engine ran perfectly and I bush-hogged for about 10-15 minutes, then power degraded until engine finally died. I bled the feeder pump and all three injector fuel input lines, while the engine is running. I have done this four times. This does not keep the above cycle from repeating itself.
The tractor has 200 hours on it; never abused and this is the first problem that I have ever had with it.
Can anyone tell me what kind of gremlin I have been infected with and how to exterminate it?
Thanks, frustrated.
PS: I AM KNEW TO THIS SITE AND JUST FOUND OTHER OPERATORS WITH A SIMILAR PROBLEM. BEFORE RESPONDING TO THIS PROBLEM, GIVE ME A COUPLE OF DAYS TO CHECK THE FUEL VENT CAP. IT RAINED HERE AND I NEED THINGS TO DRY UP BEFORE TESTING THIS ISSUE.
