Ok so I wanted one of these for a long time. I have been borrowing the neighbors but it is green (yech
) and I hate to borrow things. You never know when something is gonna break and you might have to spend almost as much as a new one to get it fixed. So I finally decide to get one and go to the local TSC and of course they are out. The guy at the service desk looks it up and it's on sale and there is one about 40 miles away at another TSC. He calls the manager at the other store and he wants to visually verify that he has it. He calls back about 5 minutes later and say yep he has one but it's looking pretty weathered and to tell me that he will work with me on the price if I want it. I was thinking I was going to try to get another 50 bucks off . I get there and we go out and look at it and he says he will give me another 75 off the sale price. Well there goes my plan to start at 60 off so I just say... uh... ok Ill take it.
So I got a new but kinda rusty (not all that bad really) KK Xb 4' rotary cutter for four hundred sixty something.
I got it together tonight with just enough time to run a lap around behind the barn. Lost one wheel, the retainer pin must have been rusted off. I managed to find the two bushings in the grass, Lucky. It seems pretty good and it's a little better fit than the green one for my little BX23 but the casters may have to be modified, they don't have enough caster in them. They sometimes get sideways and plow dirt, there is a lot of stress on them when they are sideways. It will be pretty simple to cut the shafts and re weld them at a better angle but finding the time this time of year is tough.
