Today I was on the tractor and stood up from the seat while it was running. It shut down as it should have because of the kill switch under the seat. The problem was I could not restart. It has power, I can see lights on the dash but nothing when I turn the key. I assume it is either a fuse or the switch failed. Any other ideas for me to try or has anyone else experienced this?

make sure the hydrostat pedal ( I am assuming hydrostat, maybe you have gear?) is centered, in fact rock it a little if it wont center properly as you try to start. make sure you are pushing in the clutch pedal, make sure the pto lever on your right side is not engaged. try those things and get back with us.

oh, make sure the cruise lever is not engaged..(should be all the way back.)

JUst getting off the seat wont cause the tractor to shut off.

It will not shut off if it is in neural, and pto is not running.

If it was in gear, or pto was engaged, that is why it died. Correct the "unsafe" condition that told it to kill the engine, and it should restart just fine:thumbsup:

If you are sitting in the seat, clutch pressed in, pto off, and the HST petal in neutral... and it doesn't start. I would press on both brake pedals to make sure the Cruise control is off, that should also return the HST petal to neutral.

I would then rock the HST petal back and forth to see if that's out of adjustment. Next I would check the seat safety switch to see if it's connected correctly and the spring switch looks right... Let us know how it goes.

The tractor was moving a little when I lifted up off the seat and it stalled. Maybe it is something as easy as centering the HST pedal, never even thought of that, duh. Just one more reason TBN is such a good resource, it makes me stop and think a bit w/ lots of good advice.
Unfortunately I didn't have any time to tinker w/ it and had to head off to work (double shift). I'll check it out better first thing in the morning whenI get home and report back.
Thanks to all that replied....

Success! Thanks to all my TBN brothers who responded. As is usually the case, the simpler the better. Turns out it was the HST pedal that was not centered. As mentioned my leaving the seat (actually standing a bit to look over the FEL) while the tractor was still moving caused it to shut down. In order to restart it was simply a matter of making sure the HST pedal was centered (neutral) before trying to restart. I was all set to remove the kill switch/ check the under seat lever, etc.
Thanks again.
