Kill an injured deer with a .22?

I always had heard you can shoot a deer anywhere you want and kill it as long as it in the eye. I’ve got a friend who killed a pretty good sized buck. It had a broken off arrow right between its eyes. I know it’s true because I’ve seen its skull. Some animals have pretty thick skulls.

I've seen that chart for horses.
I keep my MarkII or my Single Six in the truck for that purpose. Over the years I've come across a lot of animals in the road which somebody else hit. The last was a deer with 3 broken legs, trying to crawl out of the road on the 4th. I didn't have a gun, it was 6:30 AM and I had to knock on somebody's door for help.

I knew somebody who killed a black bear with a single shot .22.
I wouldn't advise making a habit of it. Yet for the OP's purpose it'll be fine
