I got my nephews (6 & 9) one of those Peg Pergo plastic tractors about 7 years ago. Somehow against all odds its survived 7 years without even a battery replacement, except for the trailer. One nephew is to big for it & the younger is a dare devil that will likely finish it off soon. Ironically the older nephew is the non-dare devil & got banned from the tractor due to trying to jump it rather than the younger dare devil.
My sister-in-law was talking about getting them an "ATV" at some point. Chatted with the brother the other day & he was thinking more 2 seater go cart with a roll cage due to the better protection. Neither nephew could wrangle a pull starter for a while & the older could wrangle a gas can, but would be safer to avoid it if possible for a while. The younger nephew apparently likes engine noises. My brother had been thinking about electric for ease of maintenance but isn't settled on gas or electric.
Its probably going to fall to me to be the cool uncle to bring the gifts that can cause injuries to make up for slacking at Christmas & birthdays. Thankfully both their parent's are onboard with the general idea & they have a few acres to ride.
My local car & power toys mechanic has a pair of Kandi pit king jr electric bikes new old stock for a reasonable price. Electric Dirt Bike, the Pit King Jr by Kandi America.
Any recommendations for an electric go kart or other similar toys? Budget is a couple grand, which would easily get the pair of bikes or probably a go cart. Probably a bit short for a pair of mini ATVs, but who knows if I find a good deal on some used ones.
