Does anyone have any experience, or taken a good look at, a Ken-Bar Mountaineer ? I've looked at them on the web, but never seen one up close. I'm looking for a basic utility vehicle that's simple to operate, with a decent payload capacity. Price is a big consideration. I've looked at the Yerf-Dog rover, and the fit & finish is nice, but by the time you add the electric dump you're looking at about $4500. The Mountaineer has a lightly higher payload and comes standard with a hydraulic dump, for around $5000. My CFO will be using this as much or more than me, and she's a tiny little runt (who doesn't visit TBN) /forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif, so a power dump is a must. The Mountaineer has a Tecumseh engine, and some folks don't think too much of Tecumseh, but I've had decent luck with them. I think as long as they get regular mainanence, they hold up okay. Parts are readily available, that's for sure. I've no idea who makes the engine in the Yerf-Dog.
We'll use the UV for some yard work, and for hauling people and stuff down to a picnic area we've hacked out beside Mad River. Nothing too taxing.
Any opinions ? Is there another UV out there in my price range that I don't know about, that I should consider ?
