Keeping belly mower up

Hi All,
I have a JD 4120 with a belly mower. How do I keep the belly mower from lowering when I try to lower the back link arms? I do have the R4 tires which JD says will rub if mower is placed in transport lock.

I would try the transport lock and see what happens.
