Buying Advice Keep my New Holland Boomer 1030 or buy a new Mahindra Max 26XL?

I'm in the process of possibly purchasing a new tractor. I went yesterday and drove a 2017 leftover Max 26XL shuttle at a local dealer. Gentleman was very laid back no hard sell and gave me a price of $14.700 for tractor and loader with turf tires. He is supposed to come tomorrow to look at my 2010 Boomer 1030 with 294 hrs. The tractor has never sat outside since I bought it and I am very **** about my equipment. I don't have to get a new unit but I feel the Max is a better fit for my use. Any input about this decision? I'm not going to give my tractor away on trade. It's not a need its a want. Mark

My 1030 only has one attachment position for the top link and it restricts my ability when lifting attachments at the rear (Danuser 20-40 post hole digger snow blower etc.) I have had to use extensions on the ball ends on the lift arms and they are knuckle busters to install. The 1030 is said to be cat. 1 but really is limited. On the other side the Max has a 3 position top link setup plus a much higher loader and 3pts lift capacity. New Holland has good power at 28 but hydro takes up a lot. Shuttle on the Max felt very strong but as I stated this is a want not need if I am given a low ball on my unit I will sell the Danuser and buy a compact post auger from Everything Attachments. I like my 1030 it's been a great unit and has served me well. What do you think? Mark

If you want to upgrade for functional purposes, fine. But many of us that just went through the price quote game found Mahindra to be somewhere other than the best price/value.

Have you looked to see what NH can offer? Or the other Blue (LS), Red (Massey, TYM, RK, Branson) or Orange dealers?

I don't fit on the new 25 hp ford was at the dealer this past Wednesday. I think LS makes the new compact for NH. I have prices for JD 2025, MF 1526, Kubota 2601, Branson 2510 and the Max 26XL. I love the JD but the dealer is definitely on drugs with pricing. Massey was up there with JD as was Kubota. I didn't really fit to well on the 1526 you see I'm 6'6" and 300 pounds and wear a 17_18 boot not he smallest bear in the woods. I really liked the seating position on the Max and after two complete knee replacements the lower boarding height over what I have know was a God send. I had a Bx 2200 before the 1030 and I like the new 2680 but it doesn't have the capacities the Max has. So there is wear I sit but I can say this getting on and off the 1030 honestly kills my knees and having to do that ten or so times while working gardens is truly devastating. At my age I want to be comfortable as possible even though I won't stop working. I am trying to get to see the Branson 2510 it has a 3 range hydro and dual peddle set up for direction that's two things that would be nice to have. Branson dealer told me under $15.000 for loader and tractor. Mark

By the way the Branson dealership has great people there service and sales really down to earth country folk. I failed to say Kioti dealer was also nice but has to set up a CK2610 and CK2510 hydro he has in a crates so I can try them. Mark

i have been most pleased with my mahindra max 25. no regrets. i liked the spec stuff on it compared to the orange and green and the orange dealer here is a wacko and prices are crazy - the green dealer here has been bad news too. so i went red. glad i did.

That's how I feel I would love to sit on a Branson if I can butt Big Red is looking awfully good at this point, oil just have to wait on a number for my 1030. Any problems with your Max 25? Do you have the hydro or shuttle? I like the 2025 but it has low loader and 3pt specs. Mark
