My neighbor was kind enough to help move the tractor loader hoe. With the wheel weights and filled tires, it is 10,000 and change pounds. A bit too much for my 12,000# trailer and 3/4 ton truck. But not so bad on his 24k trailer and 1 ton dually dodge.
We were about home and I asked when he got his CDL? He doesn't normally drive the trailer as he has a guy that works for him that has a CDL do that. His answer was that as the total was under 26,000# actual weight, he didn't need a CDL.
I thought the load police would nab you for tags OR actual weight exceeding 26k.
Who's right?
If it matters, the tow was all in WI only.
