Dealer Just saw a B21 for sale at my local dealer for $20k

I'm not in the market, but it seemed like a decent deal. It is a B21 HST with Kubota FEL, Kubota BH, as well as a rear-mounted Kubota...the BH is currently setting on a pallate beside the tractor.

Pretty versatile machine. It had 440 hours on it. These things are normally stored outside, so it naturally looked like it was stored outside, but I've certainly seen worse. Nothing was bent, not a lot of rust...looked like it had a lot of life left in it. Tires were a little worn, was the only real thing I saw.

I've used a B21 and it is a pretty amazing machine. The one I used was in worse shape than this one. If I had a larger plot or a compelling need for a "semi-serious" backhoe (vs. my "toy" backhoe), I'd scoop it up knowing that it would give me 20 years of flawless service.

The dealership is in Fredericksburg, Virginia on Route 3 just off I-95.

Keith given the current price of steel and such it doesn’t sound to bad if you follow the resell on the B21’s. I bought a used one in 2000 with about the same hours and spent about 18K. It now has 1300 hours and hasn’t been in the shop while I have owned it.

There are deals to be had out there. Luck, patience, looking everywhere, everyday will pay off eventually.
I found a 2004 L35TLB with 275 hrs with front remotes w/push button joystick controls, SSL QA front bucket mount, two QA mounted backhoe buckets, tiller, snow pusher and softside cab with heater for $21,500..I did spend a lot of time looking, almost three months...
I still look, just to see. A kind of morbid curiosity. Still haven't found anything to match it in a L35....

Don't limit yourself to Kubota. I've found there are better tractors out there for a lot less money. Look at the korean tractors including Montana, Kioto, TYM, and such. They have better specs, longer warentee, and less money, just don't have the name Kuboto. You could probably get a nice compact tractor for less money the you are paying for the Kubota sub compact.

Hey Jack, welcome to the forum. I think you are confusing the B21 for one of the BX sub-compact models. Big difference! The B21 is one of Kubota's commercial line of TLB's that meets the governments standards for commercial job sites. No one else does that besides Kubota and John Deere as far as I know with a 3pt hitch and PTO. It sure gets hard to keep up with all different brands and model numbers.

Neil, how does the B21 compare to the B26? I know from the specs the capacity is improved... but is the b26 a lot more tractor than the B21?

The reason I ask is because a lot of the BX series tractors seem to be continuations of the same with minor improvements...

How do those montanas do with resale? If they are any thing like a used kia, I would stick to Kubota any day ! All these tractor brands these days reminds me of all the different snowmobile brands in the 70's. Just a few survived and are around today. I doubt kubota is going to vanish in the future!

I really like my B21, have had it for 18months. Its dug alot of stumps, some 20+ inches. Cant move them to easy but I bump them to the burn pile. I have really been impressed with some of the noob things I have done and still not broke anything Its my little tank.
I also have a smaller lot, but I justified it by saying it will be the last tractor i will have to buy. My neighbors like it also

The B21 was almost 12 years old when it was replaced with the B26. There are far more things that are different than simular.
