I just ordered, received and tried out a pair of "Compact Tractor (light weight) Clamp On Bucket Forks" that I ordered from http://www.paynesforks.com/light.htm . They are well made, great welds, professional finish, just the right size for my TC35D. They fit right on and clamped tight. He rates them at 800 pound limit and they weigh 35 pounds each making them easy to slip on and off. Cost me $290 delivered which I think is a good, fair price. Frank

What keeps them from swivelling around the vise bolt from a lateral load?

These have a 1 inch steel round rod that keeps the bracket pushed up against the cutting edge resisting twist. You could NOT push a load sideways with the tips or they would twist. These are great for straight ahead lifting. Also you can NOT use a great deal of downforce on the tips. These are great for the casual user for lifting pallets or pushing brush piles. Also, for me, they work to hold planks for staging for fixing chimneys or for lifting mortar as well as for painting the house.

I being dense this morning. How does the round rod work to keep it pushed up?

check the pictures on the paynes forkes web site. When you slip the fork unit on to the front edge of the bucket the round rod pinches the front cutting edge down so that the 3 inch width of the fork is held against a 3 inch section of cutting edge. The tightening bolt holds the fork from slipping forward and out from over the cutting edge. best picture on their site seems to be at http://www.paynesforks.com/heavy.htm. This shows the space under the 1" round steel. It seems to work well. Frank

Thanks for the post. I've been considering these myself. Have you put a heavy load on them yet? I'm curious if the front edge of the FEL bucket would bend under a heavy load, since the forks would add quite a lot of leverage.

I do not plan on "testing" them. they are 2x3inch rectangular 1/4" steel tube with 1/2inch steel bracket. I agree that I might bend the lip of the bucket if I tried to lift a heavy load way out at the tips. I will be sure to lift heavy loads in close at the base of the ataching bracket. The weight seems to me to be carried by the bottom back extension of the fork about 13" back and on the front top edge of the hardened steel cutting edge. I have a heavy duty NH16LA bucket and do not worry about my cutting edge bending. I believe that I would break/bend the fork first, BUT if I did not have a heavy duty bucket I would probably worry about bending the bucket before the fork's were to bend. Frank
