just purchased a BX1500

Just picked up my Kubota BX1500 and boy am I in tractor heaven. I thought this unit might be a little underpowered for my 2 acres of land with 400 foot long driveway, but man was I wrong. This unit has plenty of power to accomplish everything I will be doing. I'll be using it to move roughly 70 tons dirt and top soil around the house and spreding stone along my 400 foot long driveway. I'll have to purchase a 4ft bush hog or King Kutter to clear all of the brush around the property. Was clearing some snow from the driveway last weekend and man was it wonderful. I'll tell you I can't say enough positive things about this unit.
I'll be heading home to my property this weekend so I'll be sure to post some photos of the BX1500 in action (before and after). I will be certainly be putting this unit to a test.

You'll find more things for the tractor to do as time goes on. Of course you'll have to get more implements...that's half the fun.

Let me know if you ever get a plow that'll do raised rows. Think maybe one of those rotary disk plows on the 3pt will do it but haven't heard from anyone doing it.

I'll be going out looking at the BX1500/1800 and NH TZ 18DA and JD 2210/4010 soon.

Looking to eventually replace my Gravely. Initially, I'll just be getting a FEL and bush hog to spell the Gravely on its snow moving and trail mowing chores. But also want the 4wd and locking diffs to make it up my back hill with my Gravely cart hitched on the back. The Gravely often won't make it without my getting off the cart/sulky and walking it up.

Also have a Gravely rotary plow that I'm hoping mayby the rotary disk will replace.

Glad to hear you like the BX1500. My cabinet man initially scared me away from the BX1500 with its strange balance gizmo, but I keep hearing about all you guys happy with it.

My Gravely is only 12 Hp and has plenty of Hp, but not enough grip. The BX1500 has FEL ability, too. Gravely won't do this.

Several people have expressed concern about the balancer on the BX1500. Thought I would show you what it looks like. It is #100 in this picture. It appears to be nothing more than a chunk of cast iron, although it may have some lead shot or some such inside to make it work like a dead-blow hammer or something similar. In any case, it has no wiring connections, no belts, no shafts, or other moving parts as far as I can tell. So other than it looking kinda funny setting on top of your engine, I don't think it need be a concern. /forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif
