Tractor
Year Unknown, Zen-Noh (Kubota) ZL2201 2WD
Just acquired a grey Zen-Noh ZL 2201 2WD (has Kubota logo on gauges). Tractor is in great shape with 942 Hours and all works perfectly. My question(s): Is there a FEL available for this model? My use will be around house (3 finished acres) for light landscaping, grounds maintenance, etc. I don't want to start spending money on attachments to find out later that parts are not available. Does anybody know the cross-over model to this? I'm up for any advice and help I can get. You can also reach me at dongordon "at" charter "dot" net. Thanks in advance. Also, if there's anyone interested in buying this tractor, I'll get a new one. I'll be at the Expo in Moultrie, GA next week if anyone's gonna be there.

There is no 100% "crossover." Kubota USA dealers are under instructions to not provide parts for any grey market models, so you will encounter some difficulty when you need parts. Zennoh is merely a cooperative in Japan; their YM models were made by Yanmar and their ZL models by Kubota. The ZL2201 is mechanically identical to what was marketed in Japan by Kubota as an L2201.

I had an L2201DT for a few years. Very tough tractor. Many of the part scan be bought frm Kubota dealer for an L245DT US model. I believe the transmission/PTO gearing is different. The engine is the same. I has able to get the front axle gears and seals from the dealer. Don't tell them it is a Grey Market 2201. In think you can get a loader from an aftermarket supplier (not Kubota), such as Koyer,Great Bend etc....
I would add some type of subframe. I had considered putting one on mine but felt the loader was worth about as much as the tractor.

I think I read somewhere ( I could be wrong )that, some kubota dealers are requiring the mod . # off the tractor B-4 selling parts.

Some dealers require the model AND serial number.....I have been told this is what is in compliance with their instructions. What I know for sure is that our source (a K dealer) told us back in 97 or 98 that they would not be able to help us in most cases anymore so we chose to quit selling orange zennohs. Some parts can be had, but it is usually much more difficult than for Yanmar, for which there is an extensive aftermarket catalog.

There are quite a few parts that aren't avail for the old 3 digit K*botas, even if you can find a dealer to sell them to you.

I have fairly good success getting parts from either Kubota. There are also some aftermarket parts. If parts are not available from these sources. I can uausly source them from Japan or from salvage tractors. I can supply a loader with ZL2201 mounting brackets.
