I just bought a 200CX for my 2210. The dealer had my 2210 in for spring service and I decided to get a FEL. I originally wanted a 210 but the JD dealer said they sold the last one back in October 05 and couldn't get any more. He said the 200CX is a good loader with all the 210 features and more. So, I bought it. Out the door it cost $2571.98 which includes tax and installation. I was considering buying a complete set of extra rims/tires to put on when I use the FEL. The tires would be R4 filled with ballast. Does anyone else purchased an extra set of rims/tires? If so, how much was the set?

IMHO Get the R4's install them, fill them and try to sell the turfs and never look back.

Loaded tires will help, but really ballast off the back of the machine on the 3pt is what you want for FEL work. You want the rear axel to take some of the weight off the front axel by making the rear axel a pivot point. Get or make a ballast box or hang a heavy implement off the back and you're good to go.

Lots of people use turf tires for FEL work. I have R4s, but I wouldn't hesitate to use turfs if that's what I had.

I'd get a ballast box with the quick attach on the 3-point hitch. Fill the ballast box with bricks or rocks. That way when you put on the FEL you can add ballast by backing up to the ballast box and hitching it on -- will take a minute at most.

Depending what your needs are... I chose to go with a Box Blade that I can hang my suit case weights on when I need the extra ballast. It's not nearly as bulky behind the tractor as some may think. Mine is the same width as my tractor. You NEED ballast for just about anything so be sure you've got something... The R4's are certainly heavier duty than the turfs for heavy work. However I chose to go with the R3's on my 2520 simply because it'll be a mowing machine 90% of the time. I chose not to fill my tires. Good luck.... /forums/images/graemlins/cool.gif

The 2210/2305 requires a good amount of ballast. It will be specified in your loader manual. A ballast box or rear implement is a must, along with wheel weights and fluid filled rear tires. All of these are best for optimum performance , but everything will help. Filling the rear tires should provide 90-110 lbs of ballast per tire, depending on what you use. I used used auto antifreeze at around -35 strength, then added about 1/2 gallon of fresh straight for added corrosion protection. Others have used washer fluid. If your machine is still at the shop, ask them how much to fill them with rimguard, it is basically beet molasses and wont corrode your rims or freeze. Some use calcium chloride, I don't like it because it will eventually lead to corrosion. The tire ballast alone will help quite a bit, especially with an empty bucket or front blade.
You can make your own ballast block if you are handy with a welder. There are lots of posts on here dealing with just that.

that all depends on how you use the machine. First you want to get some kind of rear ballast box. If you mow you might not want to use other than turfs or if you do some serious dirt work you might want some R4's. What do you intend to do with the machine?
