I needed a place for a couple of chains and some tools. Came up with the idea of using the hazard light mounting bolts to mount an old ammo box to the ROPS.

I plan to put one on the other side also.

Mike,

That is pretty nice. Word of caution or should I say murphy's law. The next time you hook up something or hook into your PTO shaft, watch your head!!!

But it does give me an idea for my New Holland.

Ah, ammo boxes. Where would we be without them? Compact, water tight, plentiful and reasonably priced. Nature's most nearly perfect product /forums/images/graemlins/laugh.gif

I mounted one in a similar manner on the ROPS on my JD. It's on the outside, and above the fender, so I'm a little less likely to dent it with my head when working around the tractor. My hazard lights are mounted on the fenders, so I had a little more freedom in where I put it and still have it be at a convenient height.

Thanks guys,

Especially to you Murph for the "heads up" (Literally)

This attachment shows an alternate method I use for lifting things with my bucket. I can use them as shown or use one in the middle and use the other one for added length to center chain.

I'm too lazy to take the bucket off an bring it down for hooks to be welded on. This has worked out fine, especially with the ammo boxes to hold the chains.

I've been needing something and this looks easier than some of the other threads. Think I'll go out and buy two. I think I could even line one with some styrofoam to keep my "cola" chilled.

Mike,

That method of lifting things with your bucket works pretty good. People here buying tractor and say they don't need a bucket. Man I would never, never buy another tractor without a loader/bucket. I even use it for things like carrying salt around to the back of the house.

Speaking of Cola Cans. Has anyone ever rigged up a Koolie Kup for their TC29D. Just not sure where to put one on mine.

Where is a good place to buy ammo boxes? I need to add a tool box to my BX2200. There was an Army Navy store not far from me but I believe it closed.

Most gun shows have someone selling the ammo boxes. /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif
