bcoleman: That is great to hear. I am looking forward to being a homeowner more than anything. The biggest conccern for any of use who are not builders is we don't know or may not notice areas that corners were cut in order to save money (more profit) or get it done early or on time.
But the bottom line is having a builder you can trust. Money saved may be money lost in 5 years when something starts to leak.
We are way over our (hoped budget) that was not real knowledge of numbers. Based on our most recent meeting we are a bit higher with our add ons from our adjusted budget, but when you look at an additional $10k in upgrades it really is about $75/month. To me it is worth it to cut back on some misc. expense so you can dd it.
