Jumping in with both feet

As a long time lurker and reader of all the wonderful posts on this highly regarded forum, I just wanted to say "Thanks" for all the useful information I've found here.

Just placed my order for a new BX2350 from my local orange dealer in Denton, Tx.

Specs & Prices:
BX2350V: $9250
LA243 FEL: $1995
RCK60B MMM: $1764
Bush Hog SQ148: $1071
Cammond BSL48 (Box Blade): $450

Dealer was very willing to work with me on prices, abd told me that Kubota is coming out with a new BX26xx (not BX26TLB) that he believes is going to replace the BX2350. I bought 1 of only 2 he has left in his inventory, and he really wanted to move it out.

He thinks the new model is going to be announced next month at their annual meeting (? I think) in New Mexico. Please don't quote me on this, cause I was too busy counting my pennies when I shoulda been listining better to what he said. But, it was something along those lines.

Anyway, that aside, how'd I do on this fine machine, price wise? I'm pretty excited about it, and expect delivery at the end of next week. Looks like I'm fixin' to join some fine company in here on a more permanent basis.

Welcome to TBN, and welcome to tractor ownership! I'm sure you will have many good hours on your new tractor. You did a little better on price than the quotes I have been getting around here, though New England always seems a little high. You will find the BX to be a wonderful tool, and helping hand!

**As a side note/request, I would appreciate any and all tips concerning delivery of new machine. I.e., what to look for and/or have dealer make right prior to operation (like new seat, fender fix, etc.)

Congratulations Kevin! One tip is make sure you get all manuals and every scrap of paper, spare parts, etc. you're supposed to have. Let us know how it goes and don't forget to post up some pics

Your valid points are duly noted DN. I just finished setting up a folder for all printed material.

Congratulations, but I did not see the back hoe listed.

Learn where you check all of your fluids, just to get in the good habit. Then work the empty bucket around so that you can have a good 'feel' for it before you actually start to move material around.

Then start to play/work lightly and work your way on up as your skill and knowledge of how your tractor handles improves.

Naw Steve, I didn't get the backhoe as I have no need for it at this time. I've got some bush-hoggin to do on some kinda rough terrain that is my pressing need and what drove me to make the purchase in the first place.

You offer some sound advice that is appreciated.

Like has been said learn where/how to check fluid level run bucket few cycles /mower up down and esp check hydro fluid after that mine on a bx-23 was over a gal low.

A gallon low? Is that normal and to be expected?

I would hope not. I think mine was a lot queen in N missouri till my dealer located it. He had it for about week to install block heater and high amp alt and the company golf tournement. So 2 places had the chance to check. Of course when the salesman delivered it no manuals were to be found and took 1.5 months with many calls and even e-mails to Kub to get tractor and more for the mower deck. I couldn't find the dip stick since it was painted blue black like rear end and couldn't see anything (liquid) in red fill plug. called salesman who said stick was 15-18" long so normal. Wrong stick is at most 6" long. Other than the 3pt returning to neutral at end of travel and weak brake my bx-23 has worked well for the almost 2yrs owning and almost 50 hrs use. I have since found a better salesman at dealership to use think really only 2 in IA. Of course in end Kub said would address issues about no man/warranty info provided and I asked to be involved HA HA.

Dealer trust is important!!! wish they knew
