Hello All, I am a Alaska commercial fisherman Who now lives in Florida and is semi retired. We have 2 acres which we are landscaping into a food forest and butterfly garden. I need tractor for moving mulch, removing stumps, etc. My neighbor has a Kubota L3430 with about 160 hrs he is selling. He is asking 15k for it. From what I can see that seems a fair price. It is an hst with the bigger loader. What do you guys think.

Welcome to TBN and the forum. Sounds to me like you got about as far away from AK as you could. I left AK in '82 after being a sourdough for 23 years. I found AK to be great for the young - a bit tough for those of retirement age.

Anyhow, the tractor sound like a sweet deal.

I left AK in '82 after being a sourdough for 23 years.

When I worked in the Brooks Range and N. Slope for the USGS, the party chief said there were three things you had to do to become a Sourdough:

1. Pee into the Yukon River
2. Make love to an Inuit woman, and
3. Fight a Polar Bear.

Although he said he might have those last two backwards.

Thanx, everyone I am still working up there part time. I like going up in the summer, but I agree the winters are tough.
