BirdBuck, it's relatively new; I've forgotten exactly when it started. But you know the rules are no advertising in the discussion forums without prior permission from Tractorbynet. The paying advertisers who keep the website free for the rest of us, do have that permission. And by giving them a distinctive status or title, that helps the moderators, as well as other members, to know that it's OK for them to advertise. The moderators wanted something like that so we wouldn't inadvertently remove posts that we shouldn't, and other members might like to know which dealers are supporting Tractorbynet financially.
I think it's a GREAT idea![]()
Thanks Bird for the clarification,Buck, anyone, including dealers, who is registered as a member is, and always has been, able to post questions, comments, or answers to questions. It's only advertising that is prohibited, or to quote part of the Terms of Use, you cannot "post material that solicits funds, or that advertises or solicits goods or services". In other words you cannot advertise to either buy or sell on Tractorbynet without prior permission.
WHY ?, he would still be selling a lot of foreign made tractorsBut do you think it would be better if he sold john deere's ?___![]()
Thanks for asking and getting us an answer Uncle Buck. I had wondered that myself. Not to point fingers or complain in any way, but I was previously under the mistaken impression that some tractor dealers had been grandfathered or were somehow covered under parent brand advertising whereas other equipment manufacturers and distributors were not. I also didn't know what constituted acceptable vs unacceptable talk with a tractor or equipment dealer. Seems that the rules, whatever they were, were not being enforced uniformly. Now I know how it is supposed to work.Whats up with new title "APPROVED ADVERTISER " under member status.
