I think John Deere only makes their loaders back, not forward compatible. By that I mean you can fit a newer loader to an older tractor, but NOT an older loader to a newer tractor.
I think they want to sell new loaders to fit old and new tractors, making you buy a new loader when you buy a new tractor.
The 512 loader or the 553 loader will be the only thing right now that is mfg to fit that tractor from Deere I think. If looking for a used loader I would search for a 520 or 521 loader. Would have been the right time frame (again, not all mounts the same because of 3 cyl vs 4 cyl chassis). Unless of course you can mfg you own mounts then your first loader choice would probably work.
Good luck
It also makes a difference if you have MFWD, in addition to 3 or 4 cyl engine.
Loaders for MFWD are designed for larger front tires used on MFWD. Look for models 540,541,& 542. both in self leveing and non self leveling.
I think the 512, 520, & 521 are for two wheels drives
