John Deere\'s New SUPERSTEER Tractor

A little hard on the tractor, a lot harder on the operator.

I made the picture a little too small. I will post some more views. This one don't run any more. When he rolled it, the motor ran wide open and crapped a rod.

Another picture. The operator went through the windshield and walked away. I believe it was too much "liquid courage". You know how us farmers are!!!!!

The force of the roll broke the axle casting. Look closely and you can see the sun gears hanging out of the case. The operator put the tractor and a boom sprayer in a ditch and then tried to drive up the other side. On the way up he tried to climb a tree and barrell rolled the tractor. I think it will make a good boat anchor. Her days of field cropping are done. We just might mount it on a concrete pad in front of the shop to attest to a persons stupidity.

It took our Allis articulated wheel loader with forks, and 2 ramsey winches to get it out of the culvert. We brought it back to the farm on a tri-axle equipment trailer behind one of our dump trucks. We had to drag it off with another tractor. She is currently awaiting the insurance adjuster for a total. We'd buy her back for parts, but I don't think there is much good left and the boom sprayer wasn't worth bringing home either.

some ambitious sole will buy it from the insurance company and try to put it back together they always do. I have a customer right know that bought a burner he has been working on it for almost 2 years he tells me he is almost done with it now! I dont know what he paid for it from the insurance company, but with the amount of parts he has bought in 2 years he could have bought a pretty good used one.

We never had one "roast", but I have a buddy who lost 2 round balers to fire in the last 3 years. Last fall I bought a new New Holland round baler and put the fire supression kit on it.

I'm not going to take any chances. Looks to me that the fire supression kit wil allow you time to unhitch your tractor and get away from the baler. We always try to bale at 12% or better but sometimes the moisture is lower and I can see that heat buildup in a rolling bale could be a problem....
