Jinma 284
Hello all,
I'm going to be buying a new tractor in the next few days
I have been looking at both the John Deere and Kubota but would like to have some input on both of these
here are the models I'm currently looking at
JD 3320 (which is now the 3033) and the Kubota B3350HSD
I also am looking at these other two models
JD 3520 or the 3039R and the Kubota L3901HST
I'm wanting to make sure I do not get a tractor that I will out grow or is under powered for what I need it for, mostly around the house we have 22 acres so its mowing and moving things around drilling holes stuff like that
I have a Jinma 254 that I feel is just a little under powered and what to up grade
also I would like to have one that has some type of warranty so that is why I'm looking at new
I did look at the 3320 yesterday and it is a nice tractor but might be a little small for what I'm looking for
thanks inadvance
Bryan

seat time might be the way to go on this and thank you
just looking for input from people that might have or currently own one of these models to see how they like them

Determine what present and future jobs you want to do with the tractor.
Determine what implements you need to best do those jobs.
Determine which tractor will handle those implements.

You're putting the horse before the cart, as far as we can tell, without knowing the scope of what you want the tractor to do and where and how you want to do it. Once we know what you want to do with the tractor there will be no shortage of advice on how to spend your money!

Isn't Reno West of Frisco?

San Franciscans will tell ya not to call it "Frisco". But hey, who cares?

My advice is to do some research, then ask any questions you may still have. Use Google, it's easier than the forum search engine.

If you think the 3320 is small, you certainly don't want a Kubota b series.

As others said, you need to decide what you want to do. Small and underpowered are two different things. Mowing and about anything else using the PTO, you want all the power you can afford. If pulling things I'm the dirt, plowing, skidding logs, etc. Are priority, you want size and weight and not necessarily power. There are tractors bearing 50 HP still just a tick over 3000#. There are also tractors in the 35hp range and pushing 4000#. Obviously one will pull things better and one will power PTO stuff better.

I am on my third tractor.

In my experience you need a 50% increase in tractor weight to notice a marked difference in performance. Additional horsepower is nice but tractor weight is the key factor. With extra weight comes additional stability which makes operating ever more of a pleasure.

Take time to submit organized posts to T-B-N.

West of "Frisco" is in the deep Pacific Ocean. Reno would be east.
