I have a John Deere LS 100 lawn tractor and I am having trouble with the safety switch. The last two times I ran it the engine died out when I engaged the blades. I tried to restart it and it took quite a few times cranking the motor over before it would start again. After that it would kill the motor a few more times briefly and then it would run fine the rest of the day. Every time it has done it I have been sitting on the seat with the gear selector in forward gear. Is this a malfunction of the seat sensor? Any pointers would be greatly appreciated.
